7th Annual Root River Clean-Up
Help our partners, Salmon Unlimited on April 18, 2026 for our 7th Annual Root River Clean-Up!
Volunteers will meet at the Root River Steelhead Facility at 8:00 AM for instructions, coffee, and clean‑up supplies. The clean‑up will run from 9:00 AM until we’re finished (typically around noon). All collected garbage should be brought to the dumpster located directly in front of the Steelhead Facility.
Clean-Up Teams & Locations
We’ll be organizing teams to cover several key areas along the Root River. Each section will need:
A group leader
Someone with a pickup truck to haul garbage
1) Horlick Dam Area
Starting at the dam, then crossing over to meet the Quarry Lake Park group as they work toward Colonial Park.
2) Quarry Area
Beginning at the quarry and working toward Colonial Park.
3) Colonial Park & Lincoln Park
Starting at Spring Street and working toward the Steelhead Facility, continuing through and potentially past Colonial Park.
4) Island Park
Beginning near the construction area and working up to Spring Street.
5) Washington Park Golf Course Area
Starting at 12th Street and working toward Lincoln Park.
After the Clean-Up
When all teams are finished, we’ll gather in front of the Steelhead Facility for a group photo, followed by a light lunch (location to be determined).
