Unique Volunteer Opportunity!! Root-Pike WIN is again teaming up with Water Action Volunteers to train water monitors to measure water quality at local restoration sites! Learn how to collect samples and take part in submitting data that will be used for restoration decision-making in southeastern Wisconsin.

Responsibilities include:

  • Mandatory training scheduled for May 30th from 12:30 – 4 pm

  • (Recommended) completion of (1-2 hr) online course before in-person training

  • Determining a partner (either someone at training, someone you bring to training, or someone you bring to each monitoring event)

  • Choosing a location site with Root-Pike WIN

  • 1-2 hours of monitoring in the field once a month for 6 months (6 total times)

  • Creating a login and submitting data to an online database used by Root-Pike WIN, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and the EPA.
