EARTH DAY PRESENTATION after worship, Sunday, April 27th. 11 am to noon
“How local restoration projects improve our watershed”- by Kristi Heuser, Stormwater Consultant and Pollinator Patch Program Manager from the Root-Pike Watershed Initiative Network
In observance of Earth Day, Convenant Presbyterian Church’s “Caring for Creation Committee” invites the congregation and members of our community to hear a presentation given by Kristi Heuser, Stormwater Consultant and Pollinator Patch Program Manager from the Root-Pike Watershed Initiative Network. The Caring for Creation Committee has been working closely with Kristi, who has given generously of her time, talents and resources, in the creation of our prairie and native gardens. Kristi will explain how all the rivers in the Root-Pike basin are impaired, but how together we can fix this problem. Learn more about the state of our tributaries in southeastern Wisconsin, local restoration projects, the impact of stormwater runoff on water quality, the important role native plants play and actions everyone can take to preserve our freshwater resources for future generations. This presentation is recommended for all property owners, gardeners, wildlife enthusiasts, and individuals with a passion for the environment!
